Who is responsible for your data

This website, bodyresponsibility.com, is operated by Elyqi Oy, Jalopeurantie 1 E 23, 00740 Helsinki, Finland. Business ID: FI35394097.

For any question about this policy or about the personal data held about you, contact kati@elyqi.fi.

We are the data controller for the personal data described below, as defined in the EU General Data Protection Regulation (2016/679).

What we collect, why, and on what legal basis

Comments

When you leave a comment we collect the information you type into the comment form, which is your name, your email address, your website address if you choose to give one, and the comment itself. We also collect your IP address and your browser user agent string.

We use the comment content, name and website to publish your comment on the site. The legal basis is your consent, given when you submit the form.

We use the email address, IP address and browser string to detect and prevent spam and abuse, and to recognise returning commenters. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and usable.

Your name and any website address you provide appear publicly alongside your comment. Your email address and IP address are never published.

Contact by email

If you email us, we hold your message and your email address for as long as needed to respond and to keep a record of the correspondence. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.

Server and security logs

Our hosting provider records standard technical information such as IP addresses, timestamps and requested pages. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating the site securely and diagnosing faults.

We do not use personal data for automated decision making or profiling, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

Cookies

Strictly necessary cookies are used to keep the site working, including a temporary cookie that checks whether your browser accepts cookies, and cookies related to caching and security. These do not require your consent.

If you leave a comment you may choose to have your name, email address and website saved in cookies so you do not have to type them again. These last one year. You can decline this by leaving the box unticked.

Optional cookies, including any used for analytics or embedded content, are only set after you give consent through the cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the cookie settings link, or by clearing cookies in your browser.

If you log in as a site administrator, additional cookies store your login and screen preferences. Login cookies last two days, or two weeks if you select the remember option. Screen preference cookies last one year.

Embedded content from other websites

Posts on this site may include embedded content such as videos or social media posts. Embedded content behaves as though you had visited the other website directly. Those providers may collect data about you, set their own cookies, and track your interaction with the embedded content, particularly if you are logged in to their service. We recommend reading the privacy policy of any provider whose content appears here.

Who processes data on our behalf

We use the following service providers, who act as processors and may access personal data only to deliver their service to us.

Hosting: Hostingpalvelu.fi, Finland. Stores all site data and server logs.

Caching and performance: QUIC.cloud. Temporarily processes and caches page data. Their privacy policy is available at https://quic.cloud/privacy-policy/

Transfers outside the European Economic Area

Some of the providers listed above are based outside the EEA, principally in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, it is protected either by a European Commission adequacy decision, including the EU US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, or by standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

How long we keep your data

Comments and their metadata are kept for as long as the post they belong to remains published, or until you ask us to delete them.

Emails you send us are kept for as long as they are relevant to the matter they concern and to any follow up, and are deleted once that reason no longer applies. You can ask us to delete your message at any time.

Server logs are kept for the period set by our hosting provider, typically no longer than twelve months.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have your data erased, to restrict or object to our processing, and to receive your data in a portable format.

Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before you withdrew.

To exercise any of these rights, contact kati@elyqi.fi. We respond within one month.

If you believe your data has been handled unlawfully, you have the right to complain to the Finnish supervisory authority, the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman, Tietosuojavaltuutetun toimisto. Details are at https://tietosuoja.fi

How we protect your data

The site uses an encrypted HTTPS connection. Administrator accounts are protected by strong passwords, and access to the site is limited to people who need it. Software is kept updated.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site develops, for example when a newsletter or downloadable resources are added. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be announced on the site.
